Search Engine Marketing Company Customer Magnetism Is Going Green
Search engine marketing company Customer Magnetism is doing its part to protect the environment.
HAMPTON ROADS, VA, March 14, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Search engine marketing company Customer Magnetism has made a pledge to further convert to 'green' business practices in order to reduce its impact on the environment. The company is currently 80 to 90% green with plans to do even more to reduce waste and consumption of resources.
The company has switched a vast majority of its communication into digital formats to cut down on their paper consumption. Even the traditional paper fax machine has been replaced with an eFax system. This way, everything that comes in to the company's fax machine is converted into a PDF file that can be stored electronically.
"It's shocking how much paper we were throwing away every week before we made the change to digital files," said Jeremy Sherman, vice president of Customer Magnetism. "We've even cut back on using sticky notes and paper messages. Instead, we now use a company-wide internal instant messaging system when we need to communicate with each other. It's saving us time and money while helping the environment."
In order to store all of the growing company's digital information, Customer Magnetism recently expanded their data backup storage. Now instead of storing paper files, the company simply places them onto the new backup system. Doing this not only saves large amounts of paper, but creates more office space that was previously wasted on file storage.
Customer Magnetism, a Virginia Beach Internet marketing firm which works with customers worldwide to improve their search engine placement, now uses large white to track current projects. Previously, Customer Magnetism used a paper tracking sheet for each client. The white boards can be erased and reused. Instead of using harsh chemicals when cleaning, the company has switched to green cleaning products.
"Even with all of our efforts to go paperless and digital, we still have the need for paper products every once in a while when working on a search engine optimization project for our customers. Instead of throwing that paper away, we recycle all we can and are even trying to convince our building's owners to install recycling bins on site to make it easier for the other tenants to recycle," said Sherman.
